The Seven-Year Itch is the idea that after seven years of a relationship, one or both partners will be tempted to stray.

The theory is that after seven years, the honeymoon period is well and truly over. According to a poll, a better name for the Seven-Year Itch might be the Three-Year Glitch.

A survey of 2,000 couples found that small things that never bothered them in the first years of a relationship started to get irritating after the three-year mark. Sex also drops dramatically after three years together.

So, how can couples who are approaching the three- or seven-year mark avoid problems? Here are a few tips:

1. Stay curious about your partner--People assume they know their mates, so they stop asking each other interesting questions and doing new things together. Don’t assume you know everything about your partner: make it a goal to try new experiences with each other, to try and find out things about him or her that you maybe didn’t know. You'll find new things about each other that will make you fall in love all over again.

2. Prioritize date night--Even when you're married, you should still be dating. Setting aside time to flirt, dote on each other and plan dates will create a continuous connection for your relationship.

3. Remember to appreciate your partner—The way to make sure your partner will leave is to forget to appreciate what a great person they are.

4. Don’t forget to play together--People get really serious if they're emotionally serious and they forget to play with each other, so it gets less fun. The beginning of a relationship is all about fun.”

5. Promise yourself to say committed--It’s important not to get too frustrated with yourself or with your partner if you find yourself in a relationship rut. Make the commitment to yourself and your partner to figure out what it takes to make it better.

(WOULD YOU BELIEVE).... CHEATING IS THE SECRET TO A HAPPY MARRIAGE.... ?

A new book claims cheating is the secret to a happy marriage.

In The Secret Lives of Wives from journalist Iris Krasnow, she interviews 200 women, and they reveal how to keep their relationship together.

Some of the women said the key to a happy marriage is cheating.  One said her husband is only capable of doing so much, and it’s not enough.

They say other secrets to a happy marriage are taking separate vacations, getting a bikini wax and having sex even when you don’t want to.

WHAT IF CELEBS NEVER FOUND FAME? COULD THEY PASS AN 'APTITUDE TEST'..?? RANDY JACKSON WILL FIND OUT

"American Idol"’s Randy Jackson is teaming with VH1 for "Aptitude Test", a new reality series will see how stars would have fared if they had never found fame.

Each week, a celebrity will take one of those aptitude tests our high school guidance counselors administered to find out what their “rightful calling” is. They’ll then disguise themselves while they train on the job to see how they do. And then at the end of the show, the stars will tell their bosses and coworkers who they really are.

The one-hour series will debut next year.
