PRONOUNS: Resumes With They/Them Often Ignored

According to Business.com, 80% of nonbinary people believe that identifying that way would hurt their job search and 51% believe their gender identity has affected their workplace experience “very or somewhat negatively.”

It turns out they're right. The site sent out 180 identical resumes with the gender-neutral name Taylor Williams, half listing male or female pronouns, half using "they or them." The non-binary feelers got far fewer responses even though 64% of the companies that received these resumes were Equal Opportunity Employers.
